At last, September is here with a hint of cooler weather and a good amount of rain! For many of us, getting out and capturing the raindrops on flowers etc. has been fun!!
TWPC never slows down!! Photography activities are planned and ready for you to sign up and join the fun! Light Painting and Long Exposure will be led by Richard Yzaguirrie, Astrophotography, at the end of the month, will be In Chappell Hill, and Coffee and Cars will kick off October!! More information will be available at our September club meeting!
And the BIG event begins this month with the submission of our photos to the TWPC Annual Contest!! Randi Munsey and team will be presenting all the details during this month’s meeting. And of course, all contest information is already on our website!
Mac Rodgers, our Guest Speaker, will also add his expertise covering “Bits, Bytes, Pixels and the Dreaded Aspect Ratio – Preparing Your Masterpiece for Sharing or Printing”!

Don’t forget, if you are eligible, you will be notified, with a link, no later than the evening of September 18th, to submit your photos for the Annual Contest-2 photos per category.
Eligibility reminder: you paid your dues by the July meeting and attended a minimum of 3 meetings between January and September meeting dates.
Mark your calendar: The non-refundable online entry fee of $8.50 per photo and form availability:
September 19th, 2022- 12:01am through September 25th, 2022- 11:59pm
Submitted photos must have been taken no earlier than October 2020.

Month of October -No Club Meeting
Judging-Digital Photo's: October 12th, 2022-Judging closed to the public.
The Winner’s Circle:
All club members will receive notification of the Winning and Curator’s Choice Photo’s/ Photographer's end of day October 12th, 2022, but will not know their placement until the night of the November Exhibition/Open House.
Winning Photographers Mat Orders for Printed Winning Photos:
A separate notification will be sent out to the Winning and Curator’s Choice Photographers advising to order Mat’s including a link to the order form. Mat orders will begin October 13th through October 17th.
Matting Workshop information will be provided…..

CHALLENGES 2022 RULES
1) Any member can participate with up to 4 photos.
2) The correspondent # tag by COPY/PASTE from every challenge must be included in your post.
3) Only photos will be included in the showcase (but videos are highly appreciated it!)
4) The subject of the Challenge must be shown in the photos.
5) Challenge ends last day of every month.
6) The showcase will be created with a minimum of 4 participants.
7) Only 4 of your submitted photos will be chosen for the showcase.
8)😎 The watermark or photographer's name must be included to show your credits in the Showcase.
9) Every January the photographer participating in most of the challenges will be awarded a digital certificate of recognition.
10) Have FUN! Practice and share your results.

FIELD TRIPS
ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
IN CHAPPELL HILL TEXAS
Saturday, September 24, 2022
Fee: Free plus your dinner

The TWPC September 2022 field trip will be Astrophotography in Chappell Hill on Saturday, September 24, 2022 with dinner at Chappell Hill Barbeque Bakery before we go.
There will also be a Zoom meeting refresher on Saturday morning, September 17 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. as a refresher about settings, equipment, etc.
The invite for this meeting will be sent to those who sign up.
There is no limit to participants for this field trip. The cost of this trip is free + your own dinner.
For those who would like to carpool or caravan, instructions will be given in the reminder email for those who sign up. The address of the location in Chappell Hill will also be given in the reminder email to those who sign up.
The time of the field trip is 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. If you would like to attend the Zoom but cannot attend the physical field trip, please let me know or sign up on the sheet with a note - Zoom only - to be sure you receive the invite.
Since this field trip will be after the deadline for submission of photos for the 2022 annual contest, some of the 2023 annual contest categories that you might find on this field trip include TWPC Field Trips, Open, and Creative Digital Manipulation.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

There will be a TWCC Learning to Shoot SIG on September 21, 2022 at 7pm. Details of the event and some YouTube videos will be published on TWCC and TWPC Facebook event pages, so please check for details and to confirm your attendance.
MINI CONTEST - SHARE & LEARN

Deadline: Saturday, September 10, 12 noon
VOTING will be the same as our last meeting. About 24 hours before the meeting (Sunday evening), we will send out a MailChimp meeting reminder. This reminder will contain two Mini-Contest links: one that will lead you to the online gallery where you can view the entries and decide your favorite; and another link that will lead you to an online ballot where you can vote for your favorite. Balloting will remain open until 6:45 pm Monday. The winner will be announced during the meeting.
Remember to remove your "watermarks" from all submitted photos. You upload high-resolution jpeg images (up to 2 per member) with the word “Mini” in the file name, by clicking on this link and following instructions:
AUGUST SHARE & LEARN
Deadline: Saturday, August 6, 12 noon
Max Photos: 4
Submission of entries for the AUGUST SHARE & LEARN will be similar to previous meetings: you can upload high-resolution jpeg imageswith the word “Slide” and a sequence number (Slide-1, Slide-2, etc) in the file name, by clicking on this link and following instructions:
